Cuban Varadero Rum is manufactured in the CUBARON factory in Santiago de Cuba. The city's surroundings are well-known for their high-quality sugar and good water – indispensable elements making the rum one of the best worldwide. The sugar cane is cultivated and processed at the region's cooperatives.

CIMEX public enterprise marketing the rum is one of Cuba's most important companies. They are paying social security contributions for all employees as well as a salary well beyond the national minimum wage.
